Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

SDG 12, also known as "Responsible Consumption and Production," aims to promote sustainable

patterns of consumption and production worldwide.

Below are some ways in which GPO works in achieving responsible consumption and production;

  1. Encouraging industries and businesses to adopt sustainable practices and technologies in their production processes. This involves reducing waste, increasing resource efficiency, and minimizing environmental impacts.
  2. Advocating for responsible and sustainable consumption patterns among individuals and communities. This includes reducing waste generation, making informed choices about products and services, and adopting sustainable lifestyles.
  3. GPO focuses on improving waste management practices, such as reducing waste generation, promoting recycling and reuse, and developing sustainable waste disposal methods.
  4. Supporting the transition to a circular economy, where resources are used and reused efficiently throughout their lifecycle. This involves recycling, repair, and redesigning products to maximize their lifespan and reduce waste generation.
  5. Emphasizing the importance of education and awareness-raising to promote responsible consumption and production patterns. This includes providing information and raising public awareness about sustainable lifestyles, sustainable business practices, and the impact of consumption on the environment.
